Full-Time | Nursing Position | RN, LVN, or LPT

Description

The Nurse works collaboratively with the Director of Operations and Medical Director to manage the medical care of our patients.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the day-to-day medical needs of the facility
  • Setting up medical appointments with outside providers
  • Intake processing of new clients on the day of admission
  • Ensuring medications are inventoried and distributed correctly
  • Enforcing program regulations and guidelines regarding medications, HIPAA policies, and Joint Commission accreditation
  • Auditing client charts regularly to ensure all medical documentation is being completed throughout the course of treatment

Experience Requirements

Nursing applicants must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills and be willing to work with a multi-disciplinary team. Experience with substance abuse treatment is a plus.  Daytime and evening shifts are available. 

Full-Time | Program Director

Description

The Program Director provides support and clinical management to adolescent RTC programs by implementing clinical programs and group schedules conducive to populations being served. The Program Director conducts and/or provides intake assessments, program tours, oversight of utilization reviews, administrative and clinical oversight to the clinical team. The Program Director works closely with the admissions department in coordinating appropriate intakes and discharges. The Program Director must be self-driven, resourceful, and have strong leadership and communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Managing our treatment centers
  • Consistently communicating and reports to the Executive Director
  • Initiating improvements
  • Working collaboratively with the Compliance Officer for clinical compliance
  • Working with the Facility Manager to support Mentor training and development
  • Assisting therapists in coordination and completion of EMR records management
  • Providing QA for documentation
  • Coordinating weekly treatment team meetings
  • Approving all discharge recommendations
  • Providing and participating in ongoing training and education for clinical staff
  • Coordinating and/or providing effective clinical supervision for all staff
  • Ensuring excellent clinical care
  • Tracking level of care authorizations, discharges, assessments, and other documentation
  • Documenting and tracking daily program schedules for clinical groups

We also expect that our Program Director will establish and maintain relationships with other agencies, healthcare facilities, placement providers, and additional resources necessary to affect the continuum of care for clients returning to the community.

Experience Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Behavioral Health Field
  • Current LMFT, LCSW, PsyD, or Ph.D. Licensure in the State of California
  • CPR Certification
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check and live-scan

Full Time | Mentor

A mentor at Ascend is the one who provides a warm, safe, home-like environment for our clients. Adolescents enrolled at Ascend require significant oversight and guidance. As a mentor, you’re there to maintain boundaries, provide emotional support, and ensure clients follow all clinical programming and community rules. This is a leadership role within the facilities that enhances patient care.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Providing direct care and supervision to clients in the milieu on and offsite
  • Maintaining vigilance and awareness to address client concerns
  • Conducting or facilitating structured groups and activities
  • Working with the clinical team and facility manager on day-to-day treatment
  • Managing crisis and interventions, including risk assessments and safety plans
  • Providing individual support for clients
  • Documenting client shift and group notes
  • Accompanying clients on outings and to AA/CODA meetings
  • Facilitating urinalysis testing for clients
  • Maintaining facility cleanliness and organization
  • Conducting regular bedroom and common area safety searches
  • Establishing constructive therapeutic communities in line with Ascend’s values
  • Supporting and assisting clients in maintaining their goals and intentions
  • Participating in ongoing clinical and staff development training
  • Co-leading weekly mentor meetings
  • Working as a team and modeling respectful behavior for clients

Experience Requirements

  • CPR certification
  • Basic knowledge of negative patterns & thinking errors in adolescents
  • Ability to interact productively & professionally among clients
  • Grasp windows of opportunity to teach life skills & self-awareness ideas
  • Must pass a federal background check & live-scan
