The Ascend Summer Reset

A Summer That Feels Different – And Actually Is

At Ascend, the 6-week Summer Reset is built to get teens out of the cycle — through movement, connection, and real-life experiences that make change feel natural, not forced. Clinical care is fully woven into the day, not set apart from it. It’s structured. It’s intentional. And it’s a lot more engaging than sitting in a room talking about change.

Whether your teen joins in a residential setting or a full-day program, they’re stepping into an experience designed to help change actually stick.

A structured reset that doesn’t feel like one.

Two Ways to Experience the Reset

Residential Reset — RTC

Full Immersion  |  24/7 Support

A deeper reset in a fully supported environment. Teens step out of their current setting and into a space designed for stabilization, structure, and meaningful change — with Ascend’s clinical team alongside them every hour of the day.

Best for:

  • Escalating behaviors or higher acuity needs
  • Families needing a complete environmental reset

Day Program Reset — PHP

Full-Day Program  |  Home at Night

A structured reset that stays connected to real life. Teens spend the full day engaged in the same dynamic experience — movement, clinical groups, experiential programming — and return home each evening to practice what they’re building.

Best for:

  • Moderate acuity or step-down from a higher level of care
  • Early intervention before patterns deepen
In real time, every day

What Makes This Summer Different
surf therapy ascend healthcare
Surf Therapy

The ocean creates an immediate feedback loop — frustration, adjustment, success. On select days, teens step into an environment that demands presence and rewards resilience in a way no clinical room can replicate.

animal therapy ascend healthcare
Animal-Assisted Work

Daily connection with animals creates something rare: a space where defenses come down naturally. Teens build attachment, empathy, and consistency — often before traditional clinical work has a chance to land.

hiking and reflecting ascend healthcare
Eco & Outdoor Programming

Hiking, horticulture, and nature-based grounding pull teens out of overstimulation and into the present. These experiences build patience, responsibility, and a quieter kind of confidence.

sports and movement ascend healthcare
Recreation & Movement

Team activities and structured movement give teens something simple and powerful — their bodies back. Energy is reintroduced, motivation reconnects, and the momentum of doing carries into the clinical work.

Why the Reset Works

Change doesn’t happen in a vacuum — and it rarely happens sitting still.

The Summer Reset is built on something the Ascend team has seen again and again: when teens are genuinely active and connected, they become more open to doing the real clinical work. Engagement isn’t a perk of this program — it’s the mechanism.

That’s why the structure here doesn’t feel restrictive. It feels purposeful. Teens know what’s coming next, and what’s coming next is something worth doing. The clinical work meets them inside that experience — not after it.

By the end of the Summer Reset, something has shifted. Not because teens were pushed into it, but because they were engaged in it. That’s the difference between a summer that passes and a summer that actually moves them forward.
